Ph.D. Policy analysis focussing on medicines for children, Makerere University; MA Development Studies at the International Institute of Social Studies (IISS), The Hague, Netherlands; Post Graduate Diplomas in Health Policy Analysis and Health Research Methodology from Karolinska Institute, Stockholm in Sweden and the Danish Bilharzias Laboratory University of Copenhagen, Denmark respectively; Bachelor of Arts, Sociology and Social Administration Makerere University. On-site pieces of training concerning managing USAID funded programs: Programming Foreign Assistance (PFA); Managing for Results, a training course for USAID/ Uganda and implementing partners; Contracting Officers’ Technical Representative; Program design and evaluations and developing and capacity building for M&E systems.

Research Interests:

Multi-sectoral focus in basic research, strategic information management, monitoring and evaluation, and formative and action research studies in the sectors of health, education, livelihood analysis. In these sectors, there is interest in policy analysis, systems, evaluations of interventions, and behaviours. In health, there is focus on child and maternal health challenges (safe motherhood, family planning, and gender-based violence), childhood diseases (malaria, pneumonia, HIV/AIDS/TB, nutrition, diarrhoea), other areas include action research on governance including decentralization and public-private partnerships; adolescent and youth-friendly services. Has widely published in all these areas.
