Olivia Nakisita

Olivia Nakisita

Olivia Nakisita is a Research Associate in the Department of Community health and behavioural Sciences at Makerere University School of Public Health. She has more than 15 years’ experience in training, research and community service.

Currently Nakisita is PhD researcher in Public Health at Makerere University. She holds a Masters of Public Health Disaster Management; a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, a Diploma in Project Planning and Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. She has extensive training in areas such as Project Management for Development Professionals, Monitoring and Evaluation, Disaster Resilient Leadership, Public Health in Complex Emergencies, Micro Planning for Sustainable Development and several other short courses that enhanced her knowledge and skills. Her interests are in sexual and reproductive health and rights, adolescent health, maternal and newborn health, urban health, refugees, disaster management, and displaced populations.

She is also the Executive Director of Newlife Adolescent and Youth Organization (NAYO), a women-led  nonprofit making, non-partisan and non-religious denominational organisation working with and for adolescent and young people (10-24 years).
