Nottingham Trent University - Makerere University (NTU-Mak) Partnership presents a One Health Seminar. The improper use of antimicrobial drugs in the human, animal, and environmental sectors has led to an international public health issue known as antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Antimicrobial Stewardship —AMS is a collection of coordinated actions that maximize the use of antimicrobial agents in order to produce the best clinical results, improve patient safety, and lower the likelihood that AMR will develop.
Natasha Hamilton and Aarash Ahmadi, pharmacists from the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in the UK, will now be at Makerere University to facilitate the execution of a project on employing a One Health Approach on antimicrobial stewardship hosted by Makerere University Colleges of; Health Sciences (CHS), Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-security (COVAB) and Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES).
They will discuss "The best and worst of times in antimicrobial stewardship: experiences from the UK" during their visit, so we would like to extend an invitation to all students and faculty to join the seminar as described below.
