Biography

Dr. Geofrey Musinguzi is a Research Fellow and Director of Surveys and Surveillance at the Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH), Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health. He holds a Doctor of Medical Science (PhD) from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, a Master of Medical Science (MMS) from Lund University, Sweden, and a Bachelor of Environmental Health from Makerere University, Uganda.
Dr. Musinguzi has extensive experience in research and capacity building, with a strong focus on the epidemiology and surveillance of both infectious and non-infectious diseases. His academic and professional work spans cardiovascular disease risk factors, HIV epidemiology, health systems strengthening, environmental health, and implementation science. At MakSPH, Dr. Musinguzi teaches and coordinates courses including MPH 7238: Disease Control and Public Health Surveillance and EHS 1208: Control of Diseases of Public Health Importance. His teaching emphasizes practical, evidence-based approaches to disease prevention and health promotion, preparing the next generation of public health professionals to address emerging health challenges in Uganda and beyond.
