Biography

Irene Nassazi is the Administrator in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health at Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH). With more than a decade of expertise in academic and research administration, she plays a central role in supporting the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the Bachelor of Environmental Health Science (BEHS), the Master of Environmental and Occupational Health (MEOH), and the Taught PhD Programme.
Her responsibilities include coordinating academic processes, tracking student progress, and streamlining departmental operations. She has extensive experience in organizing academic activities such as proposal and dissertation reviews, workshops, and seminars, while also managing departmental projects and ensuring compliance with institutional policies. In her work, Irene is strongly committed to student mentorship, operational efficiency, and strengthening administrative systems that advance teaching, learning, and research at MakSPH.
