Date of Validity

Vacancy Details

The Center of Excellence for Sustainable Health, through its project on Building Capacity for sustainable development in fragile states, is soliciting applications from STUDENTS, both undergraduate and postgraduate, for a combined short mentorship program and hackathon. This activity aims to gather a multisectoral student group to equip them with tools to experiment designing practical and creative solutions to everyday challenges in their communities as they work towards realizing the sustainable development 2030 agenda.

How to apply: We require students to write short concepts describing their creative approach to solving development challenges in their communities. Submissions should be made using the template provided via this link before August 19th, 2023.

What to expect: Successful applicants will receive a free training and mentorship on essentials of innovation in designing practical solutions to local development challenges conducted by a team of experts. The participants will then participate in a hackathon, using the skills, knowledge, and available tools to design and rapid prototype (develop early testable samples/models of the solution) creative solutions. They will then pitch to compete in groups and a prize will be awarded to the best team at the end of the program.
