The Social Innovation Health Program (SIHI Uganda) is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a position of Post Doctoral Researcher, within the Social Innovation Health Hub.
The overall objective of the Uganda Social Innovation Health Program is to identify and strengthen capacity, innovation and linkages of local social innovation projects in Uganda, in order to improve the health and sexual and reproductive health and rights of vulnerable people.
Position: 1 Post Doctoral Fellow
Duration: 9 months
Period: October 2024 – June 2025
Work Location: Makerere University School of Public Health; Social Innovation Hub; Kasangati

Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the modular training of Social Innovation in Health Fellows, who are health innovators and staff of non-governmental organizations in Uganda. Training includes the following 6 modules: Project management, research methods, entrepreneurship and innovation, effective communication and fundraising, environmental impact assessment.
- Lead dissemination and advocacy for social innovation in health in Uganda, through a national dissemination workshop and a regional dissemination workshop.
- Conduct research on social innovation health projects across Uganda. The fellow will design and conduct a research project on social innovation and health in Uganda, with support from the PI.
Requirements:
A masters degree in Public Health or a similar program; a PhD in Public Health within the last 5 years. Prior evidence of teaching at an undergraduate or master’s level is required.
