Food systems are at the heart of both human health and environmental sustainability. Yet, they remain a major driver of habitat loss, biodiversity decline, and climate change. According to the WWF’s Living Planet Report 2024, wildlife populations continue to plummet—signaling potential ecosystem breakdowns that could threaten global health.

This seminar brings together researchers, policymakers, and NGO representatives to explore:

  •  How food systems, nutrition, and environmental sustainability intersect
  • Why urgent action is needed to protect biodiversity and global health
  • Strategies for creating nature-positive food systems that nourish people, reduce waste, and support a thriving planet

Join us for this critical discussion and be part of the movement towards sustainable health.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 26th February 2025, at 2:00 PM–3:00 PM EAT | 12:00 PM–1:00 PM CET.

This seminar series is organized by the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Health (CESH), a collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Makerere University.
