Dr. Joan Nankya Mutyoba is a Senior Lecturer and Head, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics with interests in epidemiologic studies on communicable and non communicable diseases. Serves as member of the safety review board on HIV vaccine trials, International AIDS vaccine Initiative Recent achievements Research award:January 2014 to date: Young Investigator Award in Pathogen-Associated Malignancies, A research award by the Fogarty International center / National Cancer Institute D43 Program; Project Summary: A pilot study focusing on epidemiology and prevention of hepatitis B virus in pregnant women. Teaching award:Dec 2013: Award in recognition of “Excellence in Teaching and Supporting Students”, by the School Of Public Health, Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
