Dr. Justine N. Bukenya

Dr. Justine N. Bukenya (MBChB, MPH, P.h.D) is a medical doctor and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Health and Behavioural Sciences. She has Medical training from Makerere University Medical School and Public Health training from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

She has extensive work experience in clinical medicine, and public health. In terms of health service management, she has rich experience in planning, implementing, supervising, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating of Health Care services/ activities at community, district and national levels.

Justine has been involved in conducting research among vulnerable populations especially women in Kampala, with both clinical and coordination roles and has made numerous presentations at International scientific meetings. Her recent work with vulnerable women includes a publications : the “HIV and Other Sexually Transmitted Infections in a Cohort of Women Involved in High-Risk Sexual Behavior in Kampala, Uganda” She is interested in ensuring that monitoring and evaluation findings are used in health program design, implementation and policy review.
