Dr. Rawlance Ndejjo

Dr. Rawlance Ndejjo is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health at Makerere University School of Public health. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Antwerp, Belgium; an MSc Environmental Health degree from the University of the West of England, United Kingdom; and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health Science from Makerere University.

At the School, Rawlance engages in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and post graduate students, public health research, and community service. He has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles in the areas of non-communicable diseases, community health and environmental health, co-organized international conferences and meetings, and led and coordinated multi-year collaborative projects. His other research is in COVID-19, cervical cancer, malaria, and health systems. Rawlance is the Patron for the Youth Initiative for Sustainable Health (YISH), a students’ club at Makerere University. He was in 2020 nominated by the Africa Academy of Sciences to attend the prestigious Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Lindau, Germany. In 2021, he received the CUGH Drs. Anvar and Pari Velji Young African Leader Award for exceptional ability and commitment to improving the wellbeing of individuals in low-income settings.
