Mr. Douglas Bulafu

Mr. Douglas Bulafu is a Research Associate at Makerere University School of Public Health and an early career researcher with four years of experience in research, as well as supporting teaching and student supervision. He holds a BSc. in Environmental Health Sciences and an MSc. in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, both from Makerere University.

Currently, he serves as the Coordinator of the Africa-Europe Cluster of Research Excellence (CoRE) in Preparedness and Response to Pandemics and Shocks. His expertise spans urban health research, antimicrobial resistance, infectious disease epidemiology, environmental health epidemiology, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).

He has contributed to numerous research studies, focusing on both communicable and non-communicable diseases, with over 15 co-authored publications in areas such as malaria, antimicrobial resistance, COVID-19, and WASH.
