Ruth M. Neebye

Ruth Mubeezi Neebye is Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health. She has training from Makerere University School of Public Health where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and from Wageningen University (Netherlands) where she obtained her Masters degree in Environmental Sciences with specialization in Environmental Health Policy.

Ruth has extensive experience in teaching and research in the fields of Safe water Management, Solid waste Management, Health risk assessment, Human Environment, Climate change, Environmental Health Laws and Legislations, Occupational Health and Environmental Disaster Management among others . She teaches on the Bachelor of Environmental Health Science program and on graduate programs like the Masters of Public Health and Masters of Disaster Management which are both hosted at the school of Public Health.

To the school's student community she has made a contribution by being a founding member (2003) and current Patron of the Makerere University Environmental Health Students' Association since 2007. Through this association she has initiated community outreaches alongside the students to provide health related activities like community cleaning and health sensitization. This association has provided mentorship opportunities for a number of students.
