Solomon Tsebeni Wafula

Mr. Solomon Wafula is a Public Health Scientist and Epidemiologist. He has experience in the design and implementation of research studies in Environmental Health, Infectious Diseases and social epidemiology.

Currently, Mr Wafula works as a Research Associate in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health, Makerere University School of Public Health where he teaches courses in Environmental and Public Health and supports dissertation supervision for undergraduate and postgraduate students. He holds an MPH from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and MSc Epidemiology degree from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health sciences from Makerere University, Uganda. He is currently a PhD Fellow at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM), Hamburg, Germany. Solomon has diverse research interests including COVID-19, Malaria, Neglected Tropical Diseases, environmental pollution and occupational health. His publications can be accessed at https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Solomon-Wafula.  He is a Principal Investigator on a research study assessing indoor air quality, risk factors and potential health outcomes among residents in an informal setting in Uganda; supported by MaKSPH small grants programme. He is also PI for project on proficiency and quality of management of snakebite envenoming in high burden districts in Uganda. The study was funded by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH).
