Makerere University School of Public Health, the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) in Kenya, and Ifakara Health Institute in Tanzania in collaboration with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), and the University of Liverpool conducted a study to generate knowledge on stakeholder experiences, barriers, capacity gaps, and opportunities for using Human Rights-Based Approaches to advance the promotion of healthy diets and prevention of NCDs in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
In Kenya, NCDs account for 39% of annual deaths and 33% for both Tanzania and Uganda. The rising burden of NCDs in these three countries is largely driven by unhealthy dietary habits resulting from the rapid nutrition transition, and changing food environments and dietary behaviours.
As a key partner, the project would like to invite you to a virtual webinar on Monday 5th December 2022 where the project team will share the key findings of the research and solicit your feedback on the Human-Rights Based Approaches for the promotion of healthier food environments, and prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Please see the flyer, the program, and the webinar concept shared in the attachments for more details.
