Dr. Geofrey Musinguzi

Dr. Geofrey Musinguzi is a Fellow at Makerere University School of Public Health in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health (DCEH). Dr. Musinguzi holds a Post Doc Research position in the department of Primary and Interdisciplinary care at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He holds a Doctor of Medical Science (PhD) from the University of Antwerp (2015) and a Master of Medical Science with a major in Public Health (2011) from Lund University, Sweden. His first Degree is Bachelor of Environmental Health Science from Makerere University. His academic and research interest is epidemiology of HIV and cardiovascular disease risk factors in the community, environmental Health and preparedness of health systems. The acronym SPICES stands for Scaling up Packages of Interventions for Cardiovascular disease Prevention in selected sites in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

He is also involved in teaching and academic supervision of both undergraduate and graduate students’ thesis at Makerere University School of Public Health. Dr. Musinguzi is an Academic Editor and a member of the Public Library of Science (Plos One) editorial Board. He is also a reviewer for several international journals including the journal of clinical hypertension, BMJ Open, North American Journal of Medical Science and the BMC family among others.
