“Focus On Your Studies”, Prof Mondo Urges Makerere Students

On September 15, 2019, Makerere University School of Public Health students and staff participated in the Annual Makerere University (Mak) Run. This year’s event was organized to raise funds for constructing a student centre.
The chief runner, Prof George Mondo Kagonyera, former Chancellor of Makerere University, stressed his pride in being associated with Makerere University. He advised students to focus on their studies as they build for the future.

Also present at the run were the Vice – Chancellor as well as several staff from the university

MakSPH was represented by several students and two staff. They thanked the Dean for contributing towards their preparation for the race through buying T-shirts and caps.

‘’Participating in this run reduces our risk of attaining  communicable diseases like pressure so we are happy to be here and we are grateful for the Dean’s big heart’’ remarked Emma Balinda one of the student leaders of MakSPH, who participated in the run.

All proceeds from the run will be used for constructing a student centre worth 7.5billion which will comprise of a state of the art auditorium with 2000 seating capacity and Hall of Fame, conference facilities, cafeterias, internet Kiosks, Memorabilia shop/bookshop, recreational sports arena, entertainment and social areas.
