Professor Wanyenze Weighs in on Social Distancing in COVID-19 fight

As the coronavirus continues to spread across the globe, the numbers of people getting infected is rapidly growing and by all means need to be stopped.

Globally, Coronavirus cases stand at 1,441,589 with a total of 82,933 registered deaths. Nevertheless, we have a promising 308,549 number of people who have recovered. Uganda stands at 52 cases

Among the key ways being emphasized as control measures include washing hands, cough hygiene, staying home, avoiding contact with the sick, social distancing among others.

This week we bring you the entire transcript about social distancing, one of the measures, that we need to slow down the spread of the virus.

On April 7, 2020 Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) Professor and Dean Dr. Rhoda Wanyenze was hosted on NTV by Josephine Karungi during the #MorningAtNTV Show where she elaborated candidly on the role of social distancing in curbing the spread.

Among the key issues she cited in ensuring social distancing was staying at home, avoiding crowded places and not to underestimate the burden of COVID.
