⦿ Prof. Emeritus David Serwadda:

Dr. David Serwadda is an icon of academic excellence, prolific researcher and an expert in infectious disease-focused public health deeply interested in HIV clinical drug trials, HIV epidemiology, infectious disease surveillance, and HIV intervention program assessment. His great contributions have had a significant impact on the academic landscape over the course of a distinguished professional history that extend over 35 years having been appointed in Makerere University in 1993 and gone through the ranks to full Professor.

He was a Professor in the department of Disease Control and Environmental Health Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) and was  Dean  from 2003-2009, the founder of the Rakai Health Science Program, RHSP, which has pioneered research of HIV and how it is transmitted. Dr. Serwadda has published over 350 publications in medical journals and book chapters. He is a recipient of numerous local and international awards. He early this year received the prestigious title of Emeritus Professor, bestowed upon retired professors in line with the university’s policies to retain exemplary scholars who have reached the mandatory retirement age.

Aloysius is medical doctor, public (health) policy and systems specialist, development scientist, and M&E expert. Dr Aloysius Ssennyonjo (MBChB, MSc., PGDME, PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH). He has been the Academic coordinator for the Master of Public Health Monitoring and Evaluation (MPME) since 2019. He boasts over 12 years of professional experience and a broad interest in critical appraisal and analysis of complex health systems, policy, and broader development challenges at global, national, and subnational levels.
