What is the purpose of the program?
The program aims to improve graduates’ skills by placing them into selected partner industries for skills gain, facilitating the process and supervising placed interns. Graduates will be placed in their areas of study accordingly.
When does the program run?
The phased recruitment and placement will start from 1st December 2022 to 9th January 2023 for the internship period ending February 2023. Only finalists (students awaiting graduation or those in the final semester of study) that apply for the programme will be considered for this placement.
Who is eligible?
The project mainly focuses on students from Makerere University (MUK), Makerere University Business School (MUBS), and Kyambogo University (KYU). The participants should be finalists under normal progress as per their most recent results. They should not be employed anywhere and should have gone through the traditional internship placement required by their respective universities. Additionally, only students that have undergone the 2-day induction training organized under the project will be placed.
How do students join?
Interested students shall submit am online application and contact the designated university contact or focal persons. Successful applicants will be required to complete the three (3) months internship program uninterrupted to fully benefit from the program. Apply here (https://bit.ly/HEST2022).
How can a company participate?
A company interested in hosting interns under the program can fill out an internship acceptance form and forward it to the internship placement officer.
